Sometimes you don't need monthly bookkeeping. You need someone to help you build the right system, fix what's broken, or figure out a plan.
Our consulting work is project-based. You come to us with a specific problem or goal, and we help you solve it. Some clients need a one-time system build. Others need ongoing advisory as their business grows.
We work with businesses in Dallas-Fort Worth and across the country that need specific help with their accounting systems or financial processes.
You need help choosing the right entity structure, setting up accounting, and getting your financial foundation in place before you start spending money.
Your current setup doesn't work for how your business operates now. Maybe you've grown, added services, or taken on government contracts and the old system can't keep up.
Your organization needs documented policies for how money is handled, approved, and reported. This comes up a lot with nonprofits and government contractors.
Certain government contracts require your accounting system to meet specific standards before you can even submit a proposal. We help you get there before the deadline.
Consulting engagements are a little different from ongoing bookkeeping.
1. Discovery call. We talk about what you're trying to accomplish and where the gaps are. This is the 15-minute intro call.
2. Scope and proposal. We put together a clear scope of work with deliverables, timeline, and pricing. No vague proposals. You'll know exactly what you're getting.
3. We do the work. Could be building an accounting system, writing financial policies, cleaning up processes, or training your team. We stay hands-on throughout.
4. Handoff. We walk you through everything and make sure you or your team can maintain it going forward. If you want ongoing support after that, we can set that up too.
Bookkeeping is the ongoing monthly stuff. Consulting is more like a project. You come to us with a specific problem (build me a system, write me financial policies, help me get compliant before a bid) and we solve it. Some clients use both. Others just need one.
Mostly service-based businesses, professional firms, and people going into contracting. We help with the basics: picking an entity type, getting the EIN, setting up accounting from scratch, and making sure the financial foundation is solid before you start spending money.
Some government contracts won't even consider your bid unless your accounting system meets certain requirements. Pre-award means getting all of that in place before the solicitation closes, not scrambling after you've already won. It's a lot easier and cheaper to do this proactively.
Totally depends. A QuickBooks setup or cleanup is usually a week, maybe two. Building out a full system with documented policies and indirect rate structures for a GovCon client could take a month or longer. We'll give you a realistic timeline before we start anything.
That's part of it. We don't just build something and hand over a login. If someone on your team needs to maintain the system, process transactions, or follow the policies we wrote, we'll walk them through it until they're comfortable.
Tell us what you're working on and we'll figure out the best way to help.
